A Day Amongst the Flowers

Well you wouldn’t know it by the weather we had today (7 degrees and rainy) but we have had the most gorgeous Spring weather lately, perfect for a day amongst the flowers at Floriade.

Even amongst these magnificent blooms the rocks by the lake beckoned Jack. Sarah and I took a lovely rest under a tree while Jack threw rocks, much to the delight of the passing crowds.

And splashed in puddles.

And played in the dirt.

And a perfect Spring day wouldn’t be complete without ice-cream running down your arms and all over your face…why did I dress Sarah in white that day?

‘You can’t do sketches enough. Sketch everything and keep your curiosity fresh.’ ~ John Singer Sargent

I’m trying to make a conscious effort to always have Jack and Sarah’s sketch books with us wherever we go. It is my hope that drawing becomes a part of their life, a way of seeing the world. A way to connect and appreciate its beauty.

So when you come to Canberra, make sure you come in Spring so we can go to Floriade together.

  1. What beautiful spring pictures!!! I love the idea of having sketchbooks with you~ ours are always at home with us. I should remember to throw them in the bag when we go out!

Thanks for coming by. I do love meeting all of you who follow our days.
