This would have to be the easiest chocolate cake recipe ever! Ok, maybe not ever but it sure is simple. Just melt and mix. It’s perfect for little chefs, plus it’s not too rich so they can enjoy a slice or two…or three. This recipe is one I have tweaked so many times I am not sure where I got the original recipe.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 3/4 cups GF Self Raising Flour – alternatively if you can’t get SR flour you can blend your own with 1 3/4 cup plain (all-purpose) flour and 1 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 cup raw caster (superfine) sugar – you can use regular caster sugar but raw sugar is sweeter and so you can use less
- 3 tbsp GF cocoa
- 125 grams (4oz) melted butter
- 1/2 – 3/4 cup milk – GF flour sometimes makes the mixture a bit thick. Add a little more milk to make it a smooth consistency if you need
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
METHOD:
Oven: 180 degrees (350F)
Mix all the dry ingredients together. Add the wet ingredients. Mix together. Pour into a lined round cake tin. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until skewer comes out clean. Ice and enjoy xx
What did I tell you? Easiest chocolate cake ever.

N.B: This is a light cake, so make sure you freeze any leftover pieces after the first day….that’s if there is any left of course.
Wow! Looks good 🙂
